INTRODUCTION:
In Ephesians 1:15-23, Paul continues his exhortation and blessing to the people of the church in Ephesus. But now, he’s talking about why he prays and how he prays for this church. Hint: it’s in light of power of Christ. The fact that Jesus was raised to life and seated at the right hand of God, is his motivation for everything. This is also one of those passages where you find the greek word, soma, or body.
DISCOVER:

What does this tell us about what Jesus did and what he still does?
What does it tell us about the church, the body?
How would we say this same passage in our own words?
NURTURE:
This passage tells us Jesus is over all things. That he has authority and is king over everything! If that’s true, how does that change how we view our lives?
Where in your life do you feel out of control? Why?
Where do you feel like you the need to make a name for yourself? Why?
When do you struggle with Jesus’ authority in the church? Why?
Thinking about your story and this passage, how have you seen the power of resurrection in your life?
ACT:
Paul says that he writes and prays for the church so they might “know the hope they have and the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us”. What would it look like to have this posture and motivation toward your missional community, household, and friends who don’t believe?
What would our community look like if it knew the hope we have?
